A brisk morning in Scotland I found myself on route to Hartwood Hospital, a place I knew little about other than it once had two imposing clock towers.
After a quick dash across a local railway line and a walk through some woods the the hospital suddenly came into view.
Following the closure of the hospital in 1998 it laid empty in a small village until a fire in 2004 destroyed the clock towers and a number of other buildings.
Despite the clock towers suffering a vast amount of damage during the fire they were still accessible. Climbing the spiral staircase with anticipation, it didn’t disappoint walking out into the top floor of the tower.
