There has been a limestone quarry on this site since 1851 and the end to production in 1991 marked the end of over 150 years of activity.

Founded in 1905 Spillers Millenium Mills occupies fifty nine acres along the Royal Victoria Docks. Emtpy since the early 80's this iconic site is now due to be redeveloped into houses.

Cherry Knowle Hospital
Built in 1891 by G.T Hine this psychiatric facility with scenic view of the North Sea later became known as Cherry Knowle Hospital.
St George's Hospital, Stafford
St Georges Hospital in Stafford was founded in 1818 on Corporation Street, during 1879 a new wing was added to create a total capacity of 870 patients.

This site is currently having 4 floors added to produce a 19 floor mid size rise situated between the taller towers of London
Cane Hill Hospital
The Third Surrey County Lunatic Asylum ('Cane Hill') opened in 1882 and, following a gradual winding down of operations, closed all but its secure unit in 1991. The site formerly housed up to 2,000 patients.
Elektron Towers
Currently under construction this 25 floor residential building with views over Canary Wharf and the 02 is due for completion in 2008
20 Fenchurch Street
This 36 floored, 192m high building is currently being renovated. Nicknamed the Walkie Talkie for its strange shape its due for completeion in 2008
Annesley Colliery
Annesley Pit was sunk in 1860 and began production in 1865, the pit finally closed during the 1990's. Unfortunatly illegally the owners destroyed many of the remaining buildings on the site during 2004.
Mansfield General Hospital
After closing around 1992 the hospital has been left to decay. Whilst having lots of decay this building holds some wonderful charm with many items still to be found inside
The Broadgate Tower
Currently this 178m high building is under construction in central London. There are 877 steps from ground to roof where your presented with a 45 kilometres view.
Ipswich Odeon Cinema
The 5 screen Odeon cinema in Ipswich was the first multiplex in the town, unfortunately audience's declined after the opening of the rival UGC forcing the Odeon to close and be redeveloped into a clubing complex.
British Nuclear Group
Former powerstations A and B at the Littlebrooke site now form the research and test facility for the British Nuclear Group. The site's focus is to design and develop equipment for remote inspection and repair of nuclear power stations
Manchester Fire Station
London Road Fire Station is a former Fire Station, Police Station and Coroners Court built around 1906. Its currently listed at risk and Grade 2 listed awaiting plans for re-development to a music and arts venue
North Tower Manchester
The sixth largest building in Manchester sits on Victoria Bridge street and is 80 meters high, contruction of this iconic building was completed in 1965. Its primary function is residential, although it also has a Premier Travel Inn.
Withington Hospital
Formerly Chorlton Barlow Moor workhouse built in 1854. In 1910 the ownership passed to The South Manchester Township and the site was renamed as Withington Hospital, the NHS took control of the site in 1948.
The IBM Tower
The IBM tower is a 20 storey office block in the center of Basingstoke. Closed in 2002 due to asbestos the building has been stripped and is currently being converted to luxury apartments.
The Royal Military Academy
The RMA was founded in 1741. It was intended to provide an education and produce "good officers of Artillery and perfect Engineers". RMA Woolwich was commonly known as "The Shop" because its first building was a converted workshop of the Woolwich Arsenal.
The Countess Of Chester Hospital
The Cheshire Lunatic Asylum opened for the receipt of its first patients in August 1829. Currently the buildings are empty but looked after with a view to future development of the site.
UKWMO Sector 10 Filter Block
The two level bunker had been empty since 1992, its last use being as a military firing range. It was offered for sale by tender by the Ministry of Defence in June 2000. During the war the filter room acted as a collecting point for information.
Richborough Powerstation
Richborough power sation was build in the late 50's and early 60's. In 1990 trials started with an experimental new fuel called Orimulsion, in 1996 all trials of Orimulsion in the UK were abandoned due to the impact on the enviroment.
The Birmingham Mint
Established in 1794, The Birmingham Mint has, through the years, earned a global reputation. Unfortunatly The Birmingham Mint went into liquidation in March 2003, after 209 years existence as one of the world's leading mints.
St Josephs Seminary
Former Roman Catholic seminary founded in 1880 and opened in 1883. St Joseph's College was built to provide the North West with a Seminary.
Denbigh Hospital
The North Wales Lunatic Asylum was the first psychiatric institution built in Wales. Construction began in 1844 and completed in 1848 in the town of Denbigh
West Middlesex Hospital
Originally this hospital was known as Brentford Union Infirmary, and later as The West Middlesex Hospital. The hospital originally opened in late 1896.
Whittingham Asylum
Whittingham Hospital opened in 1893 and was built as Lancashire's county asylum. It consisted of four main blocks: St Lukes, St Johns, St Margarets and Cameron House
Former London Stock Exchange
The Former London Stock Exchange was constructed in 1970 just off Old Broad Street in central London, and was the headquarters for the London Stock Exchange until 2003. The tower is 100m high and consists of 26 floors.
National Gas Turbine Establishment
The Royal Aircraft Establishment at Pyestock was built in 1918 for aircraft research and development and was then later nationalised in April 1944 and became the National Gas Turbine Establishment at Pyestock
Wolverhampton Royal Hospital
The hospital opened its doors in January Ist 1849. In 1948 it was handed over to the NHS having been developed and run for 100 years on the charity and zeal of Wolverhampton's businessmen and worthy citizens.
R & W Pauls
R A W Paul was founded in Ipswich in 1893 initially to trade in malt and barley for brewers and later expanding into maize and animal feed. In 1992 companies merged and BOCM Pauls was created.
Hellingly Asylum
Built in 1901 and designed by T.G Hine, the East Sussex County Asylum opened in 1903. The location was due to the tranquil setting which was supposed to help patients recovery.
RAF Stenigot
RAF Stenigot was built in 1940 to warn of incoming raids to the north of England. In 1959 the site was changed as it was required under the Ace High communications programme although unfortunatly newer microwave techology made the equipment obselete and the site closed in the 1990s. The site is now used for amateur radio.
British Sugar Factory
Built in 1925 the Ipswich Sugar Beet factory was created at a time when the Sugar industry was thriving in the south of england, unfortunatly come 2001 the industry had taken a downward turn and the factory was cloased as part of a rationalisation by British Sugar.
Severalls Asylum *Updated
Severalls was built in 1913, housing around 2000 patients. Severalls has bore witness to its share of questionable practices, psychiatrists were free to "experiment" with new treatments on patients seemingly at will up until the 1950's.
